Seed Box

Most of the wood for this piece was gathered from an old shipping skid and a garden bird feeder. The hole in front that reveals the pendulum is where a squirrel chewed through to get at the seeds in the bird feeder. The other wood pieces were gathered at Horseneck Beach near New Bedford, MA.

The broken coral piece inside, which looks like the start of a bee’s nest, is from the beach at Cape San Blas on the Florida panhandle. The coin is an 1887 British one-cent piece found along the road on a trip to England. The clock face is a can lid spotted on a morning walk in Rehoboth, MA.
